| What is a Presence Project? How do I get involved?
God
has called the Church, as a community of people, to be a compelling
force of good in the world. Through our sacrificial love, we make the
presence of Jesus known here on earth.
Many of our Community Life Groups take on individual projects, but following are some of the churchwide Presence Projects:
Bread Ministry
This
ministry goup meets every Wednesday morning to repackage donated bakery
items to deliver to local shelters. If you're interested in serving in
the Bread Ministry, contact Daneen Duncan.
The Bread Ministry is also looking for donations of clothing and small household items to local shelters. Unfortunately, furniture cannot be accepted. For more info, contact Daneen Duncan.
NorthPoint Food Pantry
“If
you have food, share it with those who are hungry” (Luke 3:11). Our
food pantry is running low on meat for our freezer. If you’d like to
share from your cupboard, here are some suggested items: cereals, rice,
beans, crackers, pancake and biscuit mixes, pancake syrup, spaghetti
sauce, peanut butter, and meat to freeze. Also needed are non-food
items, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, laundry and bath soap, and
bathroom tissue. Please note that we do not distribute medications.
For more info contact Peggy Zwayer.
Care Team
We
are in need of a few individuals who would like to serve on our Care
Team, which involves visiting and praying with fellow NorthPoint people
when they are in the hospital or have extended illnesses. Please
contact the office if you’re interested.
Hospitality Volunteers Needed
We
still need a few more volunteers to prepare the communion elements on
Sundays. Two people are needed each Sunday. If you can serve once a
month, please contact Pastor Brad.
